NP Structures Quality
We continually endeavour to provide the highest level of quality to our customers. All of our structures are designed and manufactured in-house and subjected to rigorous inspections though a 3-phase Quality Assurance System before each leaves our factory. Our state-of-the-art machinery is checked weekly by specially-trained operators and monthly by independent technicians to ensure that every component manufactured is made to the highest standard.
The steel structure of an NP Structures building generally takes the form of a series of tubular hoops and aluminium box-section framework.
The steel frame work is made up of NP Structure’s newly developed high-endurance tube, combining high levels of corrosion resistance with the durability of high strength steel. ArmourGuard® offers up to 20 times the corrosion resistance of galvanised tube due to its revolutionary zinc, aluminium and magnesium coating. In tests carried out by Rotech Laboratories, one of the UK’s leading test houses, ArmourGuard® endured the equivalent of 100 years’ exposure to the harshest elements without undue deterioration.
Our framework’s performance is accounted for by the relatively high (3%) proportion of magnesium within the coating, which is responsible for forming an additional highly stable element called Simonkolleite and which, with the other layers, completes a triple level of unrivalled protection both outside and inside the tube. Even the cut edges of the tube are protected by the spreading of this same Simonkolleite layer.
All structures are clad with tough PVC impregnated polyester fabric. The sheets are sectioned into 2m strips. Aluminium rails fixed to the tubular steel hoops allow PVC fabric strips to be simply slid into position using Keder beading and tensioned at the foundations. This STRIPFIX® system allows the fabric to be easily applied to the framework, protecting against weather damage and creating a highly-tensioned finish. Individual strips allow cost-effective maintenance of the fabric, and the ease of erection and attachment allows the cladding to be replaced easily if required.
The PVC fabric has a life expectancy of up to 5 years depending on environmental conditions. The fabric is tested with respect to tensile strength, elongation, tearing strength, bursting strength, coating adhesion and resistance to flexing. The fabric is 100% waterproof and flame retardant to BS 7837:1996 (2015) and German DIN 4102 (B1).
Our Quality Assurance System is a promise to our customers that we are fully up-to-date with modern legislation and have the necessary procedures in place to guarantee that the highest level of quality leaves our factory every time. Many of our customers regard a quality assurance system as essential to producing goods to the standards that they require. By maintaining our QAS, we can reassure our customers that they can trust us and our products. The other major benefit is that a QAS ensures that problems and customer complaints are fully investigated and that actions are taken to stop such issues in the future.
What is a Quality Concern?
A Quality Concern is something that has not gone according to plan. It could be a complaint, a manufacturing defect, un-acceptable goods or a number of other unplanned snags that can be all too common within organisations. By recording them on a Quality Concern report, they are brought to management’s attention so actions can be taken to eliminate problems and improve company performance.
